The Good the Bad and the Queen
“Kingdom of Doom”
[en] The Good the Bad and the Queen is Damon Albarn’s (Blur and Gorillaz) new project, with Paul Simonon (The Clash), Simon Tong (The Verve) and Tony Allen. Although their debut album is interesting, I don’t think it is more than that.
[pt] The Good the Bad and the Queen é o novo projecto de Damon Albarn (Blur e Gorillaz), com Paul Simonon (The Clash), Simon Tong (The Verve) and Tony Allen. Apesar do álbum de estreia ser interessante, não penso que será mais do que isso.
Gorillaz
“Feel Good Inc.”
[en] They are called a virtual band and they are one of the most creative music projects around. The idea of the band being formed by cartoon characters is really great and works well with their music.
[pt] Eles são chamados de banda virtual e são um dos projectos musicais mais criativos que andam por aí. A ideia da banda ser formada por personagens de animação é realmente excelente e funciona muito bem com a sua música.
Lush
“Superblast”
[en] Without a doubt, 4AD was responsible for the introduction of many of the interesting bands of the 80’s and 90’s. Although they weren’t one of 4AD’s front line groups, Lush were part of those bands with some quality.
[pt] É indiscutível, que a 4AD foi responsável pelo lançamento de algumas das bandas mais interessantes dos anos 80 e 90. Apesar de não terem sido um grupo da primeira linha da 4AD, os Lush podem incluir-se nesse grupo de bandas com alguma qualidade.
Ivy
“Thinking about you”
[en] Ivy is a nice pop band, with a pleasant sound, easy to listen to. Quite a few of their songs have been used for TV shows and movie soundtracks.
[pt] Ivy é uma banda pop engraçada, com um som agradável e de audição fácil. Alguns dos seus temas têm sido utilizados para bandas sonoras de séries de TV e alguns filmes.
Catatonia
“Dimbran”
[en] Don’t really know from which album is this song, but it is quite good. Although I’ve got their second album Way beyond blue, I never did accompany the rest of Catatonia’s career.
[pt] Eu realmente não sei de que álbum é este tema, mas é bem engraçado. Apesar de ter o seu segundo álbum Way beyond blue, eu não acompanhei o resto da carreira dos Catatonia.

“Bizarre love triangle”
[en] In the early 90’s Australian band Frente! released a enjoyable album called Marvin the album, with nice tunes that were pleasant to listen to. Unfortunately they never did much more.
[pt] No inicio dos anos 90 a banda australiana Frente! lançou um álbum engraçado chamado Marvin the album, com algumas canções agradáveis para ouvir. Infelizmente não fizeram muito mais.
Durutti Column
“Jacqueline (Live 1988)”
[en] One never gets tired of listening to Vini Reilly’s guitar playing. Around since the beginning of Factory Records in the late 70´s, Durutti column still continues to delight us with great music, even after the end of Martin Hannett’s label.
[pt] Nunca nos cansamos de ouvir Vini Reilly a tocar guitarra. Desde do início da Factory Records no final dos anos 70, que os Durutti Column continuam a deliciar-nos com boa música, mesmo depois do fim da editora de Martin Hannett.
